DAY 1: Nairobi to Arusha to Karatu to Ngorongoro to Karatu

Arise early and proceed to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in time to board your international morning flight to the Arusha Airport (ARK)/ Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in Tanzania/ drop-off point (pick-up time is 7.00 am). Depart south for northern Tanzania. Transfer to the Impala Hotel/ Ilboru Safari Lodge/ Kia Lodge for a mid morning breakfast/ lunch. Proceed west to Karatu Town. Transfer to your Karatu camp/ lodge for lunch. Karatu Town is located at a distance of 132.7 kms from the Arusha Airport (ARK) and 190.7 kms from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Afternoon/ evening spent at leisure. Activities include a guided bush/ nature walk (at a supplement), a visit to a local Maasai Boma/ a cultural visit (at a supplement), bird watching, a guided walk to the nearby coffee farm/ forest (at a supplement), a forest walk to and/ or from the Ngorongoro Crater Gate (at a supplement), transfers to nearby attractions (excluding the park/ reserve entry fees/ charges), swimming and relaxing by the pool. Dinner and overnight at the Eileen’s Tree Inn/ Karatu Simba Lodge/ Kudu Lodge & Campsite/ Hhando Coffee Lodge/ the Flamingo Safari Lodge/ Crater Rim View Inn/ Green Hills Lodge Karatu/ Crater Forest Tented Camp/ Karatu Forest Tented Camp/ Jambo Rooms.

DAY 2: Karatu to Ngorongoro to Karatu

Breakfast at 7.30 am and depart with your packed lunch for the Ngorongoro Caldera/ Crater. Descend the caldera/ crater floor for a full day game drive/ game viewing tour. The Ngorongoro Caldera/ Crater also known as Africa’s Garden of Eden/ the world’s eighth wonder is the world’s largest unbroken caldera. With a diameter of approximately 19 kms (12mi) in size, Ngorongoro is a part of a group of extinct, dormant and active volcanoes associated with the widening of Africa’s Great Rift Valley. At an estimated 2.5 million years ago, the old volcano collapsed only to form this caldera/ crater. Attractions at the conservation area include the caldera/ crater, spectacular landscapes, a great destination for game viewing, about 100 bird species, rich diverse habitats, many rivers, swamps and water bodies such as the Lake Magadi and a high concentration of predators. It has the highest number of cats compared to any other destination in Africa. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch at the conservation area. Afternoon spent ascending the caldera/ crater floor and game viewing at the conservation area. Later in the day return to your Karatu camp/ lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Eileen’s Tree Inn/ Karatu Simba Lodge/ Kudu Lodge & Campsite/ Hhando Coffee Lodge/ the Flamingo Safari Lodge/ Crater Rim View Inn/ Green Hills Lodge Karatu/ Crater Forest Tented Camp/ Karatu Forest Tented Camp/ Jambo Rooms.

DAY 3: Karatu to Ngorongoro to Karatu

Breakfast at 7.30 am and proceed with your packed lunch to the Oldupai Gorge. The gorge is located at a distance of 72.5 kms from Karatu Town. It is known as the Cradle of Mankind. The Oldupai Gorge is also world renowned for hosting archaeological sites, citing the remains of the earliest human. Full day spent at the gorge. Activities at the gorge include a visit to the Leakey excavation sites, the Oldupai Museum – a pre-historic and archaeological site, a scenic picnic lunch and a transfer to the nearby shifting sands. To the south at a distance of approximately 45 kms is Laetoli another important archaeological site. Later in the day, return to your Karatu camp/ lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Eileen’s Tree Inn/ Karatu Simba Lodge/ Kudu Lodge & Campsite/ Hhando Coffee Lodge/ the Flamingo Safari Lodge/ Crater Rim View Inn/ Green Hills Lodge Karatu/ Crater Forest Tented Camp/ Karatu Forest Tented Camp/ Jambo Rooms.

DAY 4: Karatu to Ngorongoro to Karatu to Arusha to Nairobi

Arise early at 6.30 am and proceed to the conservation area. Enjoy a refreshing early morning game drive at the conservation area. Return to your Karatu camp/ lodge for a mid morning breakfast. Depart for the Impala Hotel/ Ilboru Safari Lodge/ Kia Lodge for lunch. Transfer to the Arusha Airport (ARK)/ Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in time to board your international afternoon/ evening flight back to Nairobi. Proceed to the drop-off point/ your Nairobi City hotel upon arrival. Afternoon/ evening spent at leisure (health and wellness (spa treatments at a supplement), swimming and relaxing by the pool). Return to your Nairobi City hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Eka Hotel/ Ole Sereni Hotel/ Panari Hotel/ Saab Royale Hotel/ 67 Airport Hotel/ Nomad Palace Hotel.

DAY 5: Day of departure

Arise early for an early breakfast. Transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in time to board your international morning flight back home.
