DAY 1: Nairobi to Gilgil to Nairobi

Arise early in time to meet your tour guide, who will meet and assist you at an agreed and well communicated pick-up point (pick-up time is 7.45 am). Depart north west for Gilgil Town in Nakuru County. Transfer to the Kariandusi Museum. Visit the museum. The museum and pre-historic site lies on the eastern side of the Great Rift Valley and is located at a distance of approximately 120 kms north west of Nairobi and 2 kms to the east of Lake Elmentaita (also known as Lake Elementaita). Lake Elmentaita is a soda lake in the Great Rift Valley situated approximately 120 kms north west of Nairobi. The name Elmentaita is derived from a Maasai word muteita meaning dust place, with a reference to the dryness and dustiness of the area. The lake is among the 129 heritage sites designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Attractions at the pre-historic site include a nature trail, an archaeological site, a museum exhibition hall, a campsite, a picnic site, the gorge, a monumental church building and bird watching. Proceed to the Elementaita Country Lodge for lunch. Afternoon/ evening spent at leisure. Activities include ball games e.g. volley ball etc., a scenic nature walk to the lake, swimming and relaxing by the pool. In the evening, enjoy a sundowner (at a supplement). Having concluded your safari, embark on a journey back to Nairobi. The drop-off point is the same as the pick-up point.

Have a safe and memorable journey back home, till we meet again!!
