DAY 1: Nairobi to Mount Kenya to Meru

Arise early in time to meet your tour guide, who will meet and assist you at an agreed and well communicated pick-up point (pick-up time is 7.00am). Depart north for Mount Kenya region. Transfer to a Mount Kenya (Naro Moru/ Nanyuki) hotel for lunch. En route is a brief stopover at the equator. Proceed further north to eastern region and to Meru County. Transfer to your Meru camp. The Ikweta Safari Camp is located at a distance of 348 kms from Nairobi, 85 kms from Meru Town and 2 kms from Murera Gate, the main gate for the Meru National Park. Afternoon/ evening spent at leisure. Activities include a guided bush walk (at a supplement), bird watching, swimming and relaxing by the pool, among others. Dinner and overnight at the Ikweta Safari Camp.

DAY 2: Meru to Nairobi

Arise early at 6.30 am and proceed to the park. Enjoy a refreshing early morning game drive at the park. Return to your Meru camp for a mid morning breakfast. Morning spent game viewing at the park. Attractions at the park include the former home of George and Joy Adamson and Elsa, the lioness that they raised, scenic views of Mount Kenya, rivers and riverine habitats, Tana River, the Adamson’s Falls and over 470 recorded bird species. Return to your Meru camp for lunch. Depart for Meru Town. Visit the Meru Museum, a pre-historic site. Having concluded your safari, embark on a journey back to Nairobi. The drop-off point is the same as the pick-up point.
